Corticrawl Productions was established in 1998 by Benjamin Meade in Lenexa, KS, a suburb of Kansas City. Its mission was to redefine the hackneyed term "independent film", a classification for films that once upon a time were truly "independent", but today are controlled by large corporate owned studios, powerful producers representatives, and complicated systems of distribution. A collaborative body of shooters, editors, artists, animators, and graphic designers, Corticrawl Productions produces and distributes films, video, CDs, and DVDs circumventing the corporate machine though use of new technologies and creative marketing.
